Two New Pastoral Appointments


Bishop Wayne Kirkpatrick has announced the following appointments for the Diocese of Antigonish,
which will become effective as specified:


Father Donald MacGillivray, Rector of St. Ninian Cathedral Parish, Antigonish, will become Interim-Priest Chaplain, St. Francis Xavier University effective January 4, 2021, while continuing as Rector.

We thank Father Gary MacPherson for his service as Chaplain at St. Francis Xavier University. He will continue to serve as Chaplain to the Sisters of St. Martha.


Father John DeCoste, originally a member of the White Fathers of Africa, who was incardinated in the Archdiocese of Ottawa and who is currently residing in Halifax will become Parish Priest, Our Lady of Assumption, Arichat, and St. Joseph, Petit de Grat, effective December 21, 2020. Father DeCoste is originally from Arichat.

We thank Father Angus MacDougall, Father Bedford Doucette and Father Andrew Gillies for assisting at these two parishes on Isle Madame since October.
