On September 10, 2009, Mr. Justice MacAdam of the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia certified the class action and approved a detailed program to provide notice of the class action to members of the public. The notice program is an indispensable part of the class action process.
The court-ordered notice program requires all parishes and missions in the Diocese to post the enclosed Settlement Notices on the bulletin board (or other comparable location) of each church for a period of 60 days. English and French versions of the Notice are available. Both versions are posted.
The notices and postings will be available up to and including Sunday, December 7, 2009.
