BISHOP SUPPORTS DIOCESAN PROGRAM: Bishop Raymond Lahey made the following statement concerning the Diocesan Faith Development & Ministry Program directed and assisted by Fr. Bedford Doucette 539-6188 ext 235 or Bernadette Mac Donald 783-2744: "From their baptism, the laity have their own specific vocation within the Church, and are called to a variety of ministries and services. Our Faith Development and Ministry Program is designed to provide laity with an opportunity for a deeper awareness of their faith, and to provide them with the confidence and competence to serve others among God's people. It is a program for our times, I would strongly encourage it." For more information call 539-6188 ext. 235.
APPLICATIONS FOR FAITH DEVELOPMENT AND MINISTRY
Applications are now available for interested parishioners. These applications are for Year One beginning in September. Bursaries may be available so first come first serve! Our Diocesan Program is designed to develop lay Catholics' faith and to enable them, if they so wish, to express that faith in some service or ministry in their parish, deanery, or diocese.
By building up competence and confidence, parishioners can grow by means of a community experience of fellow participants once a month for ten months a year for two years' faith development and again, if they so wish, can continue for another year's formation in a ministry.
Courses include:
- Building Christian
- Community,
- Scripture,
- History,
- Spirituality,
- Morality,
- Sacraments,
- Liturgy,
- Pastoral Care,
- Faith Formation,
- Faith and Culture,
- Contemporary Issues,

- and others.
With our good teachers, facilitators and presenters plus a great community experience on our weekends, the year will be most beneficial to any participant.
If interested, call your pastor, or Father Bedford Doucette (539.6188, ext. 235).
